2017 Jilin Summer Tourism Season to kick off

The 2017 Jilin Summer Tourism Season will kick off on June 21 as part of the province’s efforts to become a world-famous summer tourist destination.

A wide range of activities will be staged during the three-month event, including a press conference to promote the “Enjoy a cool summer in intoxicating Jilin”tourist brand, the opening ceremony of the season, a car and RV race and over 120 summer tourism festivals and events held across Jilin.

Some of the festivals and events are the 11th Changchun Summer Tourism Festival, the 2017 China (Changchun) Northeast Asian Cultural Tourism Week, the 2017 TCM Tourism Festival, the 2nd Siping Tourism Fair, Liaoyuan Cilu Lake Photography Contest, the 2017 China (Baishan) Cultural Tourism Festival, Tonghua Rape Flower Festival, China Gorlos Nadam Fair, Baicheng Wetland Cultural Tourism Festival, China Korean Cultural Tourism Festival and Changbai Mountain Flower Festival.

In addition to promoting Jilin’s tourist attractions and delicious food, the above-mentioned press conference will also roll out a micro film on travelling around Jilin. A pledge by tourism officials to observe professional ethics will be made on the occasion.

The car and RV race, to be held from June 21 to 28, will be a highlight of the season. Participating vehicles, competing in three categories for RVs, cars and all-terrain vehicles respectively, will start from Changchun and drive 1,300 kilometers in a circle around east Jilin. The race is aimed to promote the image and tourism resources of cities along the course.

During the summer tourism season, Jilin Provincial Tourism Development Committee will also invite journalists, tourism enterprises and investors from other parts of China and southeastern and northeastern countries and regions to experience its summer tourism resources in hope of jointly developing new tourism products and designing new tourist routes.
