Rural tourism becomes main force invigorating Jilin's economy

Jilin Provincial Tourism Development Commission held a rural tourism working conference at the Guandong Cultural Park in Changchun, capital of northeast China’s Jilin province, on Nov. 14, 2017.
Yang Andi, director of the commission, attended and spoke at the symposium, which was the first one on rural tourism held by the commission. Deputy director of the commission, Wang Ku, presided at the meeting.
The meeting gave a detailed description of the‘Jilin Provincial Rural Tourism Development Report’ and deployed the rural tourism and poverty alleviation work through tourism in 2018.
The results of the assessment of travel business operating units and country hotels were presented at the meeting.
Yang said we should carry out the central authorities’ deployment and take the development of rural tourism as an important measure, and the rural tourism was also the important back-up of a new round of the provincial vigorous economic growth, of great importance to a new image of the provincial tourism and formed a major part of the all-for-one tourism development.
Jilin has rich rural tourist resources and its products include therapeutic bath, sightseeing tour, accommodation in village cottage, picking fruit, fishing, and skiing.
At present, the number of travel business operating units in the province has exceeded 1,000, among which over 100 are above the designated size and employ over 300,000 persons.
