Jilin promotes summer tourism in Yanbian

Northeast China's Jilin province will kick off an international cultural tourism promotion event in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture on July 6, according to a press conference held by the provincial information office on June 12.

The event was organized by Jilin Province Tourism Development Commission, the government of Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture, China Tourism Academy, relevant departments of the provincial government, governments of cities and prefecture, Changbai Mountain Management Committee and supported by the Public Meteorological Service Centre of China Meteorological Administration.

The event was held to carry out the directive that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, go deep in exploring the provincial tourism resources and promote the province's cool climate in summer.

The promotion event will last 129 days and its four-day opening ceremony will be held in Longjing, Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture.

Chen Shoujun, deputy director of the Jilin Province Tourism Development Commission, said the major venue would be located in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture.

A series of activities will be organized at the opening ceremony such as a summer tourism industrial summit, global climate change and tourism forum, the first Jilin all-for-one tourism experience tour and sharing meeting for summer tour, Northeast Asia cultural tourism promotion week and folk song and dance performances.

At the same time, other regions of the province will present a series of festivals and events to explore Jilin's tourism resources and promote the province's cool climate in summer.
