Agricultural products fair highlights women entrepreneurs

The 2^nd Women Entrepreneurs’ Agricultural Products Fair of Jilin Province opened in Changchun on January 19.

The event, cosponsored by Jilin Provincial Women’s Federation, Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Jilin Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Jilin Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, lasted two days.

Jin Xudong, deputy head of Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, attended the event.

Over 1,000 kinds of agricultural products from more than 100 women-run enterprises and professional cooperatives of female farmers across Jilin province were exhibited and sold at the fair, such as grass woven products, hand-made dough figurines, polymer clay items and hand-made sugar figurines.

There was also a special area for experiencing rural folk customs at the fair.

Cao Baoming, a folk customs expert of Jilin province, discussed Spring Festival customs with netizens at the fair’s live streaming studio.

Intended to promote integrated development of women-run agrobusinesses and rural tourism, the event will help women develop new entrepreneurship models and business forms, expand services for their agricultural products and sell products both online and offline so they can increase income and contribute more to rural vitalization.
