China Changchun Ice and Snow Tourism Festival and Jingyuetan Vasa International Ski Festival

China Changchun Ice and Snow Tourism Festival was founded in 1998. The Vasa ski race originates from Sweden and is named after Gustav Vasa, a king of Swede who rose to lead the rebel movement of overthrowing the Danish rule. The race has been held for over 80 times since 1922. In 2003 Changchun was entitled to organize the Vasa international ski race, making China the fourth country to host the event after Swede, the US and Japan.
