Muqinggu Scenic Area (AAAA-level scenic area)

Located eight kilometers to the southeast of Yitong Manchu Autonomous County and 51 kilometers from Changchun, Muqinggu Scenic Area covers an area of 2 million square kilometers. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and by a river on the fourth side, the scenic spot distinguishes itself in Jilin as a comprehensive and high-level tourist destination by blending folk culture and natural landscape and focusing on displaying its unique and mysterious Shamanism. Eco tours, recreational activities and catering services are all on offer here.

The scenic area is comprised of nine parks and seven valleys. The Shamanic Park, the best of its kind in the world in terms of exhibits, is the centerpiece of the whole scenic area. The park consists of a Jurchen ancient village, a Shaman Shrine, a Shaman Sacred Path, Shaman Totem Pillars, a Sacrificial Altar, a Shaman Culture Exhibition Hall and a folk custom village of ethnic minorities in northern China. Visitors will be able to review the thousands of years of history of the broad and profound Shamanism.

Self-driving: Drive from the Yitong Exit of Changying for 200 meters, turn left, drive 6 kilometers, and arrive at Muqinggu Scenic Spot after passing Heidatun and Dongjiatun.

Special tourist route and bus: Any tourist route or bus in the Yitong county seat can take a tourist to the scenic area11 kilometers eastward (passing Dongjiatun, Xinsi Village, Yitong Town on the way). The ticket fare is three yuan per person. The first bus starts at 6 a.m. and the last at 5 p.m.
