Siping Campaign Memorial

Located in the Hero Square of Tiexi District in Siping, 1.5 kilometers from Siping Railway Station, Siping Campaign Memorial, a famous red tourism spot in China, serves as a national educational base of patriotism.

With a construction area of 5,158 square meters, the memorial displays nearly 2,000 relics, photos and documents in its preface hall, history of Siping Campaign hall, people’s support hall, a multi-media display hall, a film and television room, a temporary exhibition hall and a service center.

The Exhibition of Siping Campaign shows the four bloody battles between the Northeast Democratic United Army and the Kuomintang troops in Siping in March 1946, which left a shocking, bloody memory for this city.

First built in 1958, the memorial was called “Siping Exhibition Hall” at first. After being renamed several times, (Siping Museum in 1961, Siping Campaign Memorial Preparatory Office in 1963, Siping Museum in 1965, Siping Exhibition Hall again in 1973, and Siping Museum in 1980), the establishment got its present name in 1987. The Chinese characters of the memorial’s name are written by veteran revolutionist Peng Zhen.

A new memorial was officially opened in September 2007.
