China’s Folk Culture and Art (Paper-cutting)

Nearly one hundred people, old and young, are engaged in the trade of Manchu papercutting in Dongliao County. In 2007, Manchu papercutting was enlisted in the first batch of intangible cultural heritages to be protected at provincial level in Jilin. In 2008, it was enlisted in the first batch of intangible cultural heritages of Liaoyuan City. In the same year, Dongliao County was named “China’s Folk Culture and Art (Paper-cutting) Town” by the Chinese Ministry of Culture.
