Changbai Mountain International Resort

Located in Songjianghe Town, Fusong County in Jilin Province, Changbai Mountain International Resort is about 15 kilometers and 20 kilometers way from Changbai Mountain Airport and Tianchi Lake scenic area respectively. It is a cooperative project by the governments of Baishan City and Fusong County and private enterprises including Wanda Group, Oceanside Group, Yifang Group, Elion Resources Group, Yongyou Group and Lenovo Group.

Changbai Mountain International Resort is among the best tourist resorts in China in terms of scale, quality and amenities on par with other international tourist resorts. An investment of 23 billion yuan in the 18.34-square-kilometer resort is China’s biggest spending ever in a single tourist project.

The resort is divided into a northern part and a southern part.

The northern part is designed as a new tourist town where Fusong County’s administration center, conference center, cultural center, shopping center, schools, hospitals, residential quarters and other facilities are located.

The southern part is an international resort. In this part, there are high-end resort hotels, an international conference center, a large ski resort, a ball game ground, forest villas, an international hunting field and a drifting area. Ten upscale hotels have been planned in the resort. A six-star Westin Hotel, a five-star Sheraton Hotel, a four-star Intercontinental Holiday Hotel, and a four-star Holiday Inn hotel are already open; a six-star Park Hyatt hotel, a five-star Hyatt conference hotel and three-star hotels will open soon.

On November 30, 2012, the ski resort, the largest in Asia with 43 runs totaling some 30 kilometers, opened to a good start. While accommodating the needs of primary and intermediate skiers, the resort is also capable of hosting such international ski races as the Winter Olympics. By mid-March, 2013 the resort had received about 85,000 Chinese and international visitors. On June 15 the same year, a golf club with 18-hole mountain course became operational.

Another highlight at the resort is a cultural show staged at the Wanda Changbai Mountain Grand Theatre. The show, a joint effort by Wanda, Jilin Song and Dance Ensemble and the Baishan Government, is the first large-scale, themed tourist evening show in Jilin.

The International Conference Center in the resort has been designated as the permanent venue for the annual “Development Forum for Chinese Private Entrepreneurs.”

Westin Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Holiday Inn hotel opened for business at the end of July in 2012; the ski resort is ready to receive tourists by the end of 2012.

Self-driving:

Route 1: Tourists can drive 3.5 hours for about 300 kilometers from Changchun to Songjianghe resort area directly.

Route 2: Tourists can drive about 254 kilometers from Changchun to Baishan City and then finish the rest 160 kilometers.
