Jilin Chagan Lake Ice and Snow Fishing and Hunting Cultural Tourism Festival

Chagan Lake Ice and Snow Fishing and Hunting Cultural Tourism is held from end-December to early January every year. The oldest fishing method is used in the festival. It also set a Guinness World Record for a single-net fish catch.

The scene of fishing in the festival can be called one of the world wonders. A series of activities take place during the festival including a ceremony to offer sacrifices to the lake and mark the beginning of winter fishing, auction of the first fish caught, Ice and Nadam Fair, and one-day tour of viewing fish on ice.

At the second annual meeting of China’s festival and event industry, the festival was named one of “China’s top events and festivals taking place in a natural and ecological environment.”
