Lotus Lake Park

Lotus Lake Park is located at the southeast foot of the Shacao Peak in Fangchuan Village. It is embraced by forests and mountains. The lake, with crystal clear water, covers an area of 480,000 sq m, 480 meters wide from east to west, and 1,000 meters from south to north at the longest point.

The lake is famous for its water lily flowers, and local residents harvest the lotus seeds every year. In mid August every year, the lake is decorated with red, white and pink lotuses, forming a picturesque view. It is the best season to visit the lake.

Wild ducks, seabirds, red-crowned cranes and egrets often inhabit the lake. Han Wenquan, a poet in late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), praised the lake that “Its quietness makes it a fairy in the wonderland”.
