Yitong Nanshan Mountain Scenic Area

Nanshan Mountain Scenic Area lies six kilometers to the south of Yitong Manchu Autonomous County. Initially founded in 1996, the scenic area covers 18 square kilometers. As a national AAA-level scenic area, it is known as a religious site as well as a great place for recreation, vacation and entertainment with catering and business meeting facilities. The major spot in the scenic area is Baoyong Temple, consisting of four quadrangles which cover an area of 10,000 square meters. The bronze Maitreya Buddha, covered with gold,and 8.8 tons in weight, is the largest indoor Buddha in Asia. The natural condition inside the area is advantageous, including a vast expanse of mountains, rich forests, beautiful environment and abundant tourism resources.
