Martyrs’ Memorial Tower

One of Siping’s red tourism attractions, Siping Martyrs’ Memorial Tower, initially built in 1951, is only one kilometer from Siping Train Station. The tower, situated on a square of 12,000 square meters, is 23.5 meters in height. Its base is 75.6 meters in perimeter and covers 237 square meters. On the east face of the tower is an inscription by Mao Zedong, which reads “Eternal glory to the people’s heroes.” As a symbol of heroic city Siping, Martyr’s Memorial Tower is where Siping people pay homage to martyrs every Tomb-sweeping Day.
