Huangyu Scenic Area of Xinglong Mountain, Tongyu County

The Huangyu Scenic Area of the Xinglong Mountain is 60 km from the county downtown. The Keyouqian-Tieli Highway passes through it. The biggest ulmus macrocarpa var. mongolica forest in Asia is here, covering an area of about 50 square km. This is a rare tree species in Asia and grows in sandy and hilly areas forming natural secondary forest. Nature, with uncanny skills, shapes the trees in different poses resembling different expressions. Some are like old vine climbing pole. Some are like dragon swimming in river. Some are like a general waving horsewhip. And some are like eight immortals crossing the sea.

Walking under the trees, people cannot help clapping their hands and praising. No matter how dry and hot, people will feel cool, embellished and soothed once they get into this fairyland-like forest.

Self-driving:

Starting off from Changchun, drive westwards along the Changchun-Baicheng Railway for 240 km, then continue westwards along the Keyouqian-Tieli Highway for 63 km to arrive in Huangyu County. It takes 1.5 hours to drive from Tongyu to Xinglongshan Town. There are 10 buses during the day. The price of bus ticket is 14 yuan.
