In Gothic architecture style, it is mainly composed of the church itself and the bell tower. The church is 22 meters high while the bell tower 45 meters. The whole church is an arch structure built with brick and stone without any wooden beams and poles. Sixteen big stone poles, 28 meters in height and 0.5 meter in diameter each, support the church. The surfaces of the poles are very smooth.
The top of the church are bricks put in crossing structure. The stones are first-class granite from Ashihada and the bricks are local dark bricks. The whole church was built with exquisite workmanship and ingenious carvings. Besides, all the windows were installed with colored glasses – flower patterns in the upper part and human patterns in the lower part. The lead inlaid in the window glasses adds on the atmosphere of humor and solemnity. The church was damaged during the “Cultural Revolution”. Since 1980, government department in charge of religions repaired and renovated the church. Religious activities have been resumed since then. In 1999, it was put into the list of the fifth batch of protected relics by the people’s government of Jilin.
