Tumen land port is a national first-class land port, and the only urban land port that connects with North Korea by road and railway. With more than 100 years’ history, it has the earliest customs in Jilin and is the oldest land port in the province. The land port handles 5.6 million metric tons’ freight a year. Former Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai and some other leaders have visited the port. Comrade Jiang Zemin, former State leader, wrote the inscription of “Tumen Land Port of China” in Chinese calligraphy. The National Gateway opens to tourists. Standing on the building, people can see North Korea towns across the border. Tourists can also take photos in the border bridge that connects China and North Korea.
