Zhuanshan Lake
- China.org.cn
Zhuanshan Lake was an artificial lake formed by a dam built between two mountains in the upper reaches of Yehe River in Yehe Manchu Town, Tiedong District, Siping City in the late 1970s. The lake is so named because the water is winding along the mountains and the mountains also range along the lake. Endowed with rich water plants, lush forests, alpine meadows, murmuring streams and picturesque peaks and rocks, the lake is like a pearl on the Beijing-Chengde tourism line, and therefore it is reputed as a Mount Huang to the north of Beijing. The S-shaped reservoir, 5000 mu(about 334 hectares) in area, has not only a rich production of fish but also an abundance of water resources, which can irrigate thousands of arable lands.
