The Hongshi National Forest Park, located 35 km east to the downtown of Huadian City, is the biggest multi-functional national forest park in Jilin Province which has the largest forest coverage rate, the most kinds of wild animals and the richest water and soil content. Its total area is 28,574.60 hectares with forest coverage reaching 84.6 percent. There are more than 230 kinds of wild animals. Its water area reaches 2,269 hectares. There are six ancient cultural relics, 21 war relics and 126 scenic spots. In 2005, it was approved to be a national forest park. The main scenic spots here include the Forest Oxygen Bar, Yang Jingyu’s Secret Camps, Red-Leaf Park, Birch Mountain, Bailu River Drifting, rime of the Hongshi Lake of the Yingbi Peak and the Baishan Lake Scenic Spot.
