Wenxin Stele
- China.org.cn
In 1884 when construction of the Huaide County government complex was completed, Zhang Yunxiang, the first county administer, wrote an emotional inscription on diligent and clean governance and invited craftsmen to engrave the inscription on a stele which was erected in front of the main hall. Four characters—being diligent and frugal—are inscribed on the header of the stele and two big Chinese characters, Wen Xin (meaning soul-searching), first appeared in the inscription. Now it is the anti-corruption education base of Siping.
