Changbai Mountain Autumn and Red Leaves Tourist Festival of Jilin

Time: September to October

Started in 2002, this festival is a large festival based on the autumn scenes and red leaves in the Qingling Scenic Area in Jiaohe City and the Songhua Lake in the extension of the Changbai Mountain and the natural and cultural resources in Jiaohe, Jilin Province. Jiaohe has a unique distribution of vegetation. During the red leaves festival, the scenes in the mountains are wonderful in diverse tints of red. The Wuhua Mountain, blazing with bright colors, is like a shining sun. Maple leaves in the Qingling Scenic Area and the Songhua Lake Scenic Area are not only large in area but also take on different shades of color, making the two areas top choices for photographing, painting and appreciating red leaves.

The purpose of the Changbai Mountain Autumn and Red Leaves Tourist Festival is to make use of the rich vegetation resources of the Changbai Mountain, integrate the tourist market in the east of Jilin Province, forge the tourist product of “maple leaves in the Changbai Mountain” and promote the tourist image of Jilin.
