China’s Sock Town

Northeast China Sock Textile Industrial Park was established with private capital in August 2005. It is located in the Liaoyuan Economic Development Zone, Jilin Province. Socks of 6000 designs belonging to six product categories and 100 independent brands are made here. It is a key industrial park with local characteristics under the 12th five-year plan of Jilin province. The development of the park results in Liaoyuan’s fast rise in the national sock industry. The city now ranks the second in industrial scale, dominating the market in north China while Zhuji of Zhejiang Province dominates the market in south China. Liaoyuan is named as “China’s Famous Sock-producing City” and “China’s Sock Town” by China’s Textile Industry Association and China’s Knitting Industry Association.
