World Sculpture Park in Changchun

The World Sculpture Park in Changchun received an AAAAA rating, the highest recognition for a scenic area in China, from China National Tourism Administration in February.

The park, inaugurated fourteen years ago, has played an important role in Changchun’s international exchanges, innovation and expansion of forms of tourism and urban development, with its unique charm and appeal.

It received an AAAA rating in 2004 and was certified to be among the first key national key parks along with the Summer Palace in Beijing and the Humble Administrator’s Park in Suzhou in 2007.

Work to build the park into an AAAAA scenic area began in 2012 and in December 2015, the park made its way into the reserve list for AAAAA scenic areas. A leading group was formed immediately to ensure the goal of receiving an AAAAA rating is attained.

The park has spent 244 million yuan in renovation and expansion.
