Jilin holds tour guide training program

A tour guide training program attended by 1,000 people ended on October 19, according to Jilin Provincial Tourism Development Commission.

The program, organized by the commission, was carried out in three sessions in Changchun, Yanbian and Jilin respectively.

Designed to enhance the professional skills of Jilin’s tour guides and increase the number of qualified tour guides, the program is expected to elevate the level of tourism service in Jilin. For this reason the program is of great importance in fostering competent tourism professionals in Jilin.

To ensure the training is scientific, relevant and forward looking, lecturers were carefully selected and curriculum and its schedule were meticulously set.

While in keeping with the outline of the National Tourism Guide Examination and emphasizing the key points in the outline, the program also touched upon the current situation in the tourism industry through case studies.

China’s master tour guide and experts from Jilin University, Changchun Normal University and Jilin Railway Technology College were invited to teach some of the training courses. Their detailed lectures analyzed typical cases and explained profound theories in simple languages and showed trainees how to put the theories in practice, and thus are vey instructive and inspiring for the work, study and exam preparations of the trainees.

The training program was widely applauded by tourism professionals in Changchun, Jilin and Yanbian and has proved to be effective.
