Int'l ice and snow tourism industry expo kicks off in Jilin

The 2nd China Jilin International Ice and Snow Tourism Industry Expo and 23th China Jilin International Rime Ice and Snow Festival kicks off in Jilin city, northeast China's Jilin province, on Dec. 15.

Liu Guozhong, governor of Jilin province, said at a promotion conference that located in the hinterland of the Northeast Asia, Jilin was not only the important industrial base and commodity grain production base of China, but also a playground for ice and snow sports, paradise of ice and snow for visitors, and wonderland of ice and snow culture.  

Liu said through the joint effort, Jilin would be built as a large ice and sown industry province, a large ice and snow tourism province, and a world-class tourist destination. 

"We will strengthen the tourism management, create a sound business and tourism environment and provide quality and efficient services", Liu stressed.

Wei Hongtao, deputy director of the China National Tourism Administration, said Jilin was a large ice and snow tourism province, and would established tourism community with Heilongjiang province. 

"The China National Tourism Administration will, as always, support important regions in their efforts to expand and strengthen ice and snow tourism industry," Wei said.
