Jilin to expand and strengthen ice and snow industry

The Jilin provincial governor Liu Guozhong attended and spoke at the meeting of the leading group of provincial ice and snow industrial development on Oct. 24. 

He stressed that to support all-round rejuvenation of Jilin province, essential parts should be emphasized, specific measures should be strengthened, industrial policies should be improved, environment should be optimized, mechanism and policy should be innovated, and ice and snow industry should be expanded and strengthened. 

The ice and snow industry combines ice and snow resources with tourism, culture, sports, education and social undertakings. The province has unique ice and snow resources, which should be turned into industrial advantage, Liu said. 

We should give priority to infrastructure, construction of transportation, accommodation and catering improvement, and bring the provincial unique resources advantages into full play and develop distinctive winter tourism products featuring ice and snow activities, hot spring and folk customs, Liu said. 

The reform should be further carried out alongside with the improvement of ice and snow industrial structure and mechanism, and the healthy and continuous development of provincial ice and snow industry should be ensured through strengthening the supervision and inspection, summing up experience and creating a sound atmosphere and environment, Liu said.
