Jilin dazzles world at ceremony of Pyeongchang Olympics

Northeast China's Jilin province dazzled the world at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
One-third of the scenes in Beijing's eight-minute show at the closing ceremony were filmed at winter destinations in cold and snowy Jilin province.
According to Yang Andi, director of the Jilin Tourism Development Commission, the province had set a goal of becoming a big and strong player in China's ice and snow industry and tourism market and a world-class ice and snow tourism destination by 2020.
Jilin province has driven its economic growth in recent years by developing ice and snow tourism in winter, and rural tourism in summer, and the ice and snow industry is expected to become a new pillar in the province's economic growth.
The province boasts many hot spring wetlands and large geothermal fields. Jilin has the best ice and snow resources in the world and is very suitable for developing ice and snow sports. The province also has firs-rate skiing facilities and excellent tourism services.
Skiing, hot spring experiencing and rime appreciation have become popular travel options among tourists from home and abroad. Moreover, rural tourism has already become an important channel by which the province may achieve agricultural transformation and upgrading.
