Jilin holds symposium to commend efforts behind its National Day float

Jilin held a symposium in Changchun on October 15 to commend the efforts behind the successful debut of its float at the National Day parade in Beijing on October 1.

The team behind the float also met the press on the same occasion.

Shi Yugang, head of publicity of Jilin, addressed the symposium.

Applauding the team's efforts in fulfilling its mission, the symposium said that the team had overcome numerous difficulties and finished the designing, making, transporting and rehearsing work in seven months before its debut and exhibition during the National Day in Beijing.

The float embodied Jilin people's best wishes and deep blessings for the country, and its fine design, intensive technology input and excellent performance was a result of the wisdom of various industries pooled together, the symposium said.

The float was a work of collaboration, the symposium stressed. It showcased the patriotism, political awareness and sense of responsibility of the float team as well as their artisan spirit of pursuing excellence and perfection.

Standing at a new historical starting point, the team should make persistent efforts to make new contributions to the all-round revitalization and development of Jilin in the new era and create a better tomorrow for Jilin, the symposium urged.

A representative of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jilin Province gave a report at the symposium. Representatives of Jilin University of Arts, Jilin University, Armed Police-Jilin, FAW, Cedar Electronics, the government of Lvyuan District of Changchun, and Jilin Art Gallery also shared their views on the occasion.

About 30 journalists attended the symposium.
