With the guidance and support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Department for Industry Development, the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism hosted the 16th edition of the ministry's program to match projects with investors using its industry projects service platform on November 27. The edition was tailored to the needs of northeast China, a region that was once a national industrial base and now seeks rejuvenation.

An event to match Jilin's cultural and tourism projects with funding sources took place concurrently.

Ma Feng, deputy head of the the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Department for Industry Development, said at the event that in recent years, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has been continually deepening the cooperation between the cultural and tourism sector and the financial sector and pushing for the establishment of a multi-layer, multi-channel and diversified industry financing and investment framework to reduce the difficulties and cost of financing for cultural and tourism projects.

Ma also pointed out that the industry projects service platform is an important initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and will help match cultural and tourism enterprises with financial institutions.

Yang Andi, director of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said on the same occasion that finance is a key factor in the development of the cultural and tourism sector, hoping that a capital-projects cooperation platform, a resources-project ideas communication platform, a financing cases learning platform and a projects selection platform can be established in Jilin.

Yang emphasized that Jilin boasts both ice and snow resources in the winter and lucid waters and lush mountains in the summer. In recent years, the province has been actively building two tourism brands - "Come to Jilin to Enjoy the Snow in the Winter" and"Enjoy a Cool Summer of 22 Degrees Centigrade in Jilin". An industrial pattern where winter and summer tourism drives spring and autumn tourism has taken shape.

The event, chaired by Jin Xudong, deputy head of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, also featured a ceremony to unveil the nameplate of the Cultural and Tourism Industry Investment Union of Jilin Province. The Union, a joint initiative of the Jilin Provincial Chamber of Commerce for Cultural Enterprises and Jilin Provincial Tourism Association, is a non-profitable organization that brings together financial institutions and cultural and tourism enterprises to address financing difficulties.

Also during the event, four enterprises, including the Changchun Movie Wonderland, Changchun World Sculpture Park, Jingyuetan Scenic Area and Changchun Caesar Forest Hot Spring Resort were awarded nameplates bearing the characters "Demonstrative Destinations for Convenient E-payment Services".

Excellent cultural and tourism projects from around China also exhibited themselves and shared their experiences during the event.
