Jilin holds 2020 New Year Concert

Jilin held its 2020 New Year Concert at the Jilin Provincial Library on December 20.

Presented by the Jilin Provincial Orchestra and conducted by Yuan Ding, chief permanent conductor of the China National Opera House, the concert featured famous instrumentalists like violinist Du Xuan and trumpeter of the Central Conservatory of Music Chen Guang performing together a number of classics of both western countries and China together.

According to Shi Dongsong, head of the Jilin Provincial Orchestra, the orchestra either hosted or took part in many large performances in 2019. In 2020, the year marking the 250th birthday of Beethoven, the orchestra will continue to invite famous conductors, composers, and artists to join its performances for the local people, including the performances of many of Beethovenc's works, to enrich local cultural life.
