Jilin Provincial Symphony stages folk music concert

Jilin Provincial Symphony gave a folk music concert, its first performance of 2020, at the Jilin Provincial Library on January 8.

Chen Zhisheng, music director of the Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra from Taiwan, was invited to conduct the concert.

The opening show was a piece of music by Guan Naizhong played by both Chinese and Western percussion instruments.

The concert also featured a suona solo by Zhang Weiwei, a teacher from the Central Conservatory of Music, of Xi Yu Zhi Guang, or the Light of Central Asia, composed by Zhang Shiyue for the Belt and Road Initiative.

Orchestral pieces that was typical of Taiwan folk music, sang praise of the winter, or won the China National Arts Fund were also highlights of the concert.
