To tap the cultural value of ancient Chinese books and promote and develop fine traditional Chinese cultures innovatively, the National Library of China, also the National Center for Ancient Books Protection, and the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism sponsored an exhibition of engraved ancient books from Ming Dynasty at the Jilin Provincial Library on January 14.

The 72 engraved books on show were all collections of the Jilin Provincial Library, including both officially and non-officially engraved editions, especially rare versions, aiming to present a whole picture of the development of engraved books in the Ming Dynasty.

The exhibition marked the third of the library’s special exhibitions on ancient books.
