The first volunteers activity of Jilin Provincial Library took place on January 8 when 17 students from Jilin No. 2 Experimental Yuan Yang School came to the library to offer volunteer services.

Ahead of the services, students were given a tour around the library to learn more about the place, including the locations of each reading room, the circulations of books, and the use of self-service equipment.

At the Chinese-language Social Sciences Section, where books were circulated most and related workload was the heaviest, students were given a detailed introduction about what they were to do and how to do their job well by an experienced librarian, before they started their service at the section.

Through the activity, the students learned that it was no easy job to work at the library and they needed to follow rules when reading at the library.
