6th Jilin Poem and Prose Reciting Contest concluded online

The final of the 6^th Jilin Poem and Prose Reciting Contest was held online on June 18.

Sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the contest was an intiative started in 2015 to enrich the cultural life of the public.

This year, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the contest went online. Initial selections started in May and a total of 43 contestants from all walks of life made the final. The topics of their recitings were various, either to praise the Party and the country, to honor anti-epidemic heroes, to tell their thoughts about life or to spread traditional culture.

The Best Reciters Award went to 12 contestants, the Good Manners Award went to 14 contestants and the Honorable Mention Award went to 17 contestants. In addition, 12 units were awarded for doing a good job in organizing the contest.

On June 28, the whole contest will be put on the National Public Culture Cloud Platform, the Jilin Provincial Digital Cultural Center Service Platform and many new media platforms for people to watch online.
