Provincial Art Troupes' National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival Performance Week kicks off

With the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival around the corner, the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism launched the "Wonderful Night of Jilin · Provincial Art Troupes' National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival Performance Week" on September 26.

The activity is another initiative of the department to develop its night-time economy brand "Wonderful Night of Jilin" on the basis of its previous initiative“Wonderful Night of Jilin · 2020 Summer Performance Season.”

The event will last until October 18, during which the Peking Opera Troupe and the Ji Opera Troupe of the Jilin Provincial Opera Theatre, the Jilin Provincial Folk Art Troupe, the Jilin Provincial Orchestra, and the Jilin Traditional Folk Arts Troupe will stage a number of excellent night shows that bring together various art forms at the Dazhong Theatre, Taolimei Grand Theater and the Music Hall of the Provincial Library.

Among the famous performers are Plum Performance Award and Magnolia Award-winning Peking Opera artist Ni Maocai, Peony Award-winning Big-drum Recitative artist Wang Dahai, song-and-dance duet performers Sheng Zhe, Song Zhonghong and Zhangbo, state first-class actor Ding Dong, young Peking Opera performer Liu Zhiqiang and Chang Fenghe, young Ji Opera performer Liu Yang, and soprano Gao Zitong and chief performers Zhang Tongtong and Li Yanwei of the Jilin Provincial Orchestra.

In accordance with local epidemic prevention and control measures, tickets for all performances require advance reservation and capacity will be capped at 75 percent.

Meanwhile, the 2020 edition of Jilin's "Taking Performances to Community Residents" initiative is now in full swing, under which over 80 teams formed by art troupes of various levels bring over 2,000 performances to villages, towns, communities, barracks and enterprises.
