5th Jilin Int’l Ice and Snow Industry Expo to open on Dec. 25

The 5th Jilin International Ice and Snow Industry Expo will take place in Changchun on December 25-29, it was announced at a press conference on December 10.

Some 80 museums and over 400 enterprises from around China will attend the event.

Preparations for the event are progressing in an orderly manner.

With a theme of  "Watch Winter Olympics in Beijing, Experience Ice and Snow in Jilin", the event will continue to combine the theme of the Winter Olympics with the development of Jilin's ice and snow culture, ice and snow tourism and ice and snow sports.

The event will feature nine major activities including the Forum on High-quality Development of China's Ice and Snow Economy.

To encourage consumption, two million yuan has been earmarked as consumer subsidies for the event. Besides, there are online exhibitions and business talking services to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Chen Shoujun, deputy head of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said that Jilin has been speeding up efforts to tap its ice and snow resources for economic benefits in recent years. It has actively built ice and snow-related cultural and tourism brands, and deepened efforts to develop the smart ice and snow sector, cultivate ice and snow talents and advance its ice and snow equipment manufacturing industry.
