Jilin Province to boost high-quality development in culture and tourism sector

Jilin Province held a video conference in Changchun, the provincial capital, on Jan. 18, to discuss how to conduct works in culture and tourism sector and how to make efforts in epidemic prevention and control in 2021.

The conference pointed out that the province should implement new development principles, shape new development patterns, and assume new responsibilities and take new actions in new stages of development, and should boost high-quality development in culture and tourism sector with firm resolve, and strive to build on the province’s strengths in tourism, ice and snow economy and culture.

In 2021, the province will open new chapters of culture and tourism works in nine specific aspects, with high-quality development as the core.

The conference said that, during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the province’s ice and snow industry has developed an innovative way of development, the culture sector has seen steady progress and fulfilled people’s demand for a better life, the integration of culture and tourism has deepened, a series of cultural icons characteristic of Jilin Province has become known to people, and the value of ice and snow tourism has been explored to boost its development.

The conference demanded that, during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the province should maintain cultural confidence and enable high-quality socioeconomic development, should let culture and tourism sector play its role in the rejuvenation of old industrial bases, and should push for the integration of culture and tourism while shaping new development patterns, so as to release consumption potentials in the sector.

The conference stressed that, in 2021, the province will open new chapters of culture and tourism works to fulfill people’s demand for a better life by focusing on nine aspects that include prioritizing safety and epidemic prevention and control, promoting culture, enhancing top-level design, securing high-quality supplies, exploring markets, stabilizing growth by fostering enterprises, and increasing vitality through innovation.
