Jilin promotes cultural and tourism consumption during Spring Festival

To encourage people to stay put in Jilin during the Spring Festival to help curb the COVID-19 epidemic as well as to promote cultural and tourism consumption during the holiday, Jilin launched a special campaign on January 21 that will last until March 31.

As Spring Festival marks a golden week for tourism and coincides with Jilin's snow season, the special campaign focuses on promoting short-distance tourism and tourism around cities within the province.

Under the campaign, 100 million yuan will be earmarked from the provincial tourism industry development fund to support cultural and tourism enterprises, including 30 million yuan in consumption coupons.

Efforts will also intensified to promote quality cultural and tourism resources, products and related policies to encourage consumption.

Work teams for major cultural and tourism projects will follow their respective projects closely and provide timely services in project construction, investment approval, policy guidance and financial support.

Jilin will also cooperate with Ctrip, Meituan, Mafengwo and Huabei to set up e-commerce stores featuring cultural and tourism products.

In addition, two major series of activities will be launched. One features cultural and tourism deals including ice and snow consumption coupons, discounts and recommendation of popular destinations. And the other features cloud experiences, whereby 348 cultural programs of 19 themes can be enjoyed for free.

Three work mechanisms will be set up to ensure a successful campaign: one for advancing the campaign, one for ensuring safety and one for market feedback.
