Jilin launches 'Green Bookmark Action' to protect minors

To raise the safety and legal awareness of minors and protect them against potential harm online, Jilin's relevant departments jointly launched a series of activities on April 1 under the "Green Bookmark Action" program.

Intended to help children guard against harmful publications and information online, the activities will run through the end of December.

Among the acitivities are the following ones:

Primary and secondary school students will be organized to submit their original text and cartoon works on boycotting pirated books and promoting healthy reading for an online voting.

They will also be organized to sign their names or leave messages online in support of the "Green Bookmark Action"  to build a clean internet.

In addition, the program for cracking down on pornography and illegal publication will be publicized intensively to raise the awareness of minors protection.

Videos explaining laws regarding minors protection will also be promoted to raise the awareness of minors to protect themselves and guard against potential harm, and to raise the awareness of the entire society about the responsibilities and obligations of minors protection.

Science venues, children's centers and museums will hold "Green Bookmark Action" activities free of charge for teenagers. 

A team of primary school students will be organized to introduce the program on cracking down on pornography and illegal publication on campus.
