Training session to promote innovation and smart development at scenic areas held in Ji'an

To promote innovation at Jilin province's scenic areas and make them more digital, internet-based and intelligent, a training session sponsored by the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and organized by the Jilin Provincial Association of Scenic Areas and the Jilin Training Base of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was held in Ji'an on May 8 to 11.

More than 200 people took part in the session, including officials from city- and prefecture-level cultural and tourism bureaus in charge of management of scenic spots, representatives of member units of the Jilin Provincial Association of Scenic Areas, heads of scenic areas, and experts of scenic area management research from colleges and universities.

Well-known experts were invited to give lectures at the session such as Li Xinjian, Zhang Lingyun and Cui Li from the Beijing International Studies University on such topics as innovation, high-quality development and smart construction.

The experts also held exchanges with participants on the frontier and hot issues in the development of scenic areas.

In addition, participants visited the Koguryo cultural relics and border attractions to learn about experiences of 5A scenic area construction and border tourism development.

The training session deepened participants' understanding of smart scenic area construction, and pointed out innovative and smart construction are not only an urgent task for regular epidemic prevention and control but also an inevitable requirement for high-quality cultural and tourism development.

It also stressed that providing tourists with better services and new experiences through smart development has become a major measure for the transformation and upgrading of scenic areas.
