To mark the centenary of the Communist Party of China, relevant agencies and organizations in Jilin started in April to select 100 extraordinary veterans who have fought in the major wars that took place from the 1930s to the 1950s and honored them by organizing literary and artistic creations for them.

100 of the over 300 calligraphy, painting and photography works created by artists, art college teachers and students, art-enthusiastic ex-servicemen and volunteers went on show at the Changchun World Sculpture Park on June 25.

Media outlets also interviewed the veterans to spread their stories.

The works were spoke highly of by families of the veterans and visitors to the exhibition.

Chi Baoshan, an ex-serviceman who had created many calligraphy works for the veterans, said,“It is the highest respect to an extraordinary veteran to create literary and art works for them to spread their heroic deeds and let their heroic spirit inspire people to forge ahead.”
