The 6th Jilin International Ice and Snow Industry Expo will open on December 18 at the Tonghua Ice and Snow Industry Demonstration City.

As the first snow-themed expo in China, the event has attracted nearly 2,000 brands from 27 countries and regions and nearly 15 Chinese provinces to participate during its past five annual editions, thus becoming a big platform for the ice and snow industry to grow into an ice and snow economy.

This year, the expo, to be held both online and offline, will last until March 31, 2022.

With the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics just about 50 days to go, the expo has made the Games a highlight of this year's edition with new technologies and ideas to offer visitors new ways to experience the sports of the Games.

The opening ceremony, meetings and exhibitions will be held at the newly-built Wanfeng Ski Resort in Tonghua.

Jilin province's ice and snow resources, select cultural and tourism products, local quality agricultural products and Winter Olympics franchises will be promoted and sold at more than ten major cities, commercial areas and tourism destinations around Jilin.

The expo will also highlight over 300 colorful activities to be held throughout the new snow season, including the promotion of new ice and snow landmarks, the Ice and Snow Silk Road Forum, the 2021 Annual Meeting of the China Union of Ski Resorts. The Changchun Ice and Snow Festival, the Jilin Rime Festival, the Chagan Lake Winter Fishing Festival, and the Changbai Mountain Powder Snow Festival.

At the same time, an online shopping festival will be launched at several OTA platforms during the snow expo for tourists to shop for skiing, hot spring and food products. Ice and snow products will also be exhibited via an array of media platforms.

The Tianmao Ice and Snow Festival will be launched at the Vanke Songhua Lake Resort at the end of this year.
